The Beginning of the Matter#
1/ The $TRUMP trade a few days ago allowed many traders to earn millions or even tens of millions of dollars. As a retail investor, I also made a relatively considerable profit. Here’s a brief recap.
On the morning of the coin launch day, due to the time difference while I was traveling abroad, I woke up to find it was already past 1 PM local time.
2/ After opening WeChat, I saw that the messages in various groups had exceeded 999. After quickly browsing the information, I immediately withdrew coins to prepare to buy $TRUMP. Due to the slow withdrawal of SOL chain on Binance, I ended up buying in at around 14U.
3/ That afternoon, considering safety and operational convenience during my travels, I transferred all 5431.15 $TRUMP I held to Binance.
In the early morning, I saw a news release stating that Trump’s wife Melania had issued a new coin, and I immediately started selling $TRUMP on Binance at a price of 66U, eventually clearing out around 62U.
4/ The logic here is that the issuance of a new coin usually siphons off funds from older coins, leading to a significant pullback in the older coins. Subsequent results proved that my operation was correct.
At the same time, I used part of the funds from clearing my position to buy 400 $SOL and withdrew from Binance in two transactions (200 each), preparing to buy $MELANIA.
Unfortunately, the first withdrawal arrived quickly, but the second one was delayed for nearly an hour, which frustrated me greatly.
5/ After the withdrawals arrived one after another, I bought nearly 400 $MELANIA at an average price of about 5U.
After a short rest, I woke up to find the price had reached 13U. Based on the current price estimate, the second-tier coins usually do not exceed 30% of the first-tier coins, and 13-14U accounted for more than 25% of the first-tier coin's price at that time. Therefore, I cleared my position at prices between 10-11U, selling about 840 $SOL and depositing back to Binance.
6/ I used these $SOL and the funds from previous sales to buy $TRUMP entirely at prices of 41U and 44U. At this point, my $TRUMP holdings increased to 10405.7, nearly double the initial purchase amount. This was mainly due to the swing trading in the early morning and the profits from trading the second-tier coins.
7/ Subsequently, I cleared my position in $TRUMP at a price of 49.61U before Trump's speech. Although I missed the peak of 63U when Robinhood went live, the overall result was still satisfactory.
8/ Finally, I bought $TRUMP at around 35.9U and sold it at 39.99U. Before boarding my flight back home, I cleared all my $TRUMP holdings, ultimately netting 573703 U.
9/ My profits cannot be compared to those of large capital traders, but considering the time difference during my travels and that I only started buying at 14U, I believe I have achieved optimal operations, and in retrospect, there is no room for improvement.
